As we prepare to embrace 2023 with open arms, we take a look at what promises to be an action-packed month with a full programme of cultural, sporting and fun family events. So, dive in and feel that invigorating rush of adrenaline!


Making a Splash on SALINAS BEACH

1 January

Are you ready to jump into the New Year? There’s no better way to enter 2023 with all senses tingling than by taking part in the first swim of the year at midday on Salinas beach. Now something of an island institution, this event – organised by Vino&Co – brings 100s of intrepid bathers together for a bracing dip followed by a nice glass of wine.

Go one better and buy a T-shirt from Vino&Co – 50% of the profits will go to the NGO Proyecto Juntos, which seeks to raise awareness about and provide support to children in hospital suffering from cancer. 

Dancing into the New Year!

1 January

World-famous Barcelona clubbing promoters elrow will take over Amnesia to open the year in style with a New Year’s Day party, Nowmads. Lasting from 17:00 on 1 January through to 06:00 on 2 January, the party promises to feature all of the panache, spectacle and ambience that have made the brand so popular globally.

Play your way into 2023

1-3 January 

Diverespai, the annual installation of fun-filled frolics 5000sqm of soft play, animation and stimulation for kids of all ages returns to the Ibiza Exhibition Centre (Recinto Ferial) after a 2-year hiatus. Sit back and relax while you let your kids run free. The helpful volunteers will make sure that everyone has a great time. 


Special New Year Monday Social Walk

2 January

Stride into the New Year while taking in some of the island’s most stunning scenery with the Special New Year Monday Social Walk organised by Walking Ibiza. This 3-hour-long hike takes in the area of Santa Agnes coastline known as Heaven’s Gate. Discover its abundant flora, fauna and history in the welcome company of fellow ramblers.


Follow that star!

Night of 5&6 January

This super fun annual event in which the Three Kings give out presents to the island’s little ones takes place in all of Ibiza’s towns and villages. Head to your local church and await the magical arrival of the heroes from the east. The kids’ level of hype will be off the scale!


Night Sky Walk with Walking Ibiza – Sunset & Full Moon Rise

7 January

Join this magical 3-4 hour sunset & full moonrise walk with star lady Etienne, who will share her knowledge of and passion for the celestial bodies en route.


San Antonio Winter Patron Saint Festivities

17 January onwards

Celebrate the biggest week in the popular resort’s calendar. A broad programme of events will be organised by the town council, incorporating religious, cultural and leisure activities. These annual festivities include the island’s oldest folklore celebration and the unmissable Flower Power Party. Head down to the big marquee in the fountain square to join in the fun.


Santa Agnes village fiesta

21 January

The patron saint’s day of this beautiful village is the focal point for almost a month of revelry. Events will be held most weekends, well into February, when the whole village will come alive as islanders descend on the village to share in the explosion of natural glory that is the annual almond blossom bloom. Expect rock bands, DJs, torradas (big communal grills) traditional cuisine and ancient traditions of dance and culture to be woven into the programme of events. 


Guided Biking Tour 

22 January

The third guided biking tour to be organised by the Patronato de Deportes de Ibiza as part of its 2022-23 bicycle tourism programme will run from Ibiza Town to Santa Gertrudis and back.

Come along for a gentle ride through the interior of Ibiza in the company of friends and family.

Nordic Walking Excursion San José

22 January

Organised by San José Town Council, this walking excursion (difficulty level: medium) is centred on the gorgeous zone surrounding San Agustin. By this time in January, the area’s abundant almond trees are normally starting to blossom, so don’t forget to pack your camera!

Pujada Puig de Missa – races for children and adults

22 January

The annual Pujada is a series of challenging races for adults and children of all age groups up the church hill in Santa Eulalia. After enjoying the sights and scenes of the town and seafront, the steep climb up the hill to the finish line certainly tests the mettle. Sign up today if you wish to take part. 


10K Playa den Bossa Race

29 January

A nice flat circuit and superb sea views make this community road race a must for running enthusiasts. With cool temperatures at this time of year, expect to hit a fast pace in these perfect conditions for long-distance runners. 

Guided Walk around San Agustin

29 January

As part of its guided walking tour programme, the Patronato de Deportes de Ibiza’s first route of the year (difficulty level: high) will be held in the area of Sa Carroca, just outside Ibiza Town. Come along for some gentle exercise while enjoying the landscape.
