Norton track and field athlete Isabella Pietrasiewicz is one of the better long-distance runners in Greater Taunton.

The Lancer athlete helped the team place 39th out of 44 teams in the Emerging Elite division, running 4:25.04.

Pietrasiewicz is a great cross country runner, finishing unbeaten during the season.

The Taunton Daily Gazette Sports Department recently asked Pietrasiewicz some questions to get to know her better:

TG: Who is your favorite sports hero?

IP: Shalane Flanagan.

TG: What age were you when you started your sport?

IP: 11.

TG: What is the best part about competing?

IP: Being able to push your body to limits you didn’t know they could reach and watch all your hard work pay off alongside people who support you through everything.

TG: What emotions do you feel when you do well?

IP: Excitement and gratitude.

TG: How does being an athlete make you a better person?

IP: It has taught me sportsmanship, how to stay positive and how to work hard.

TG: What is your favorite song to listen to prior to competing?

IP: “Lose Yourself” by Eminem.

TG: What is your favorite movie about sports?

IP: “McFarland.”

TG: What do you do to calm your butterflies while you compete?

IP: I dance around and shake my legs out and talk to other girls in line to distract myself from my nerves.

TG: What is your favorite food to eat the night before a big competition?

IP: Pasta.

TG: What one word describes you?

IP: Determined.
