1 Nike Vaporfly 4% Flyknit

Price: $250
Many of the fastest runners in Chicago, including Farah, Rupp, and Kosgei, wore elite versions of these shoes on race day. The Flyknit model of this shoe is the latest model of the highly touted Vaporfly 4%, which uses ZoomX foam and a carbon-fiber plate in the midsole to deliver unmatched energy return.

2 361 Degrees 361-Feisu

Price: $120
Worn by the fastest American woman, Sarah Crouch, the Feisu is a fast runner’s best friend—lightweight, aggressive, and it maintains a level of comfort despite being stripped down to the bare essentials needed in a running shoe.

3 Nike Cool Miler

Price: $30
Although Rupp and Farrah wore Nike tops with tech available only to the elite level, the Nike Cool Miler is a version suitable for everyday runners who want a lightweight, sweat-wicking, sleeveless option on race day.

4 361 Degrees 361-F!T Essentials Tank

Price: $30
Crouch wore an elite cropped tank from her sponsor, 361 Degrees, during the race, but there are still some great running tops and bottoms from the brand, like the 361-F!T Essentials Tank. This loose-fitting top is ideal for running, yoga, gym days, or when you’re in an athleisure mood.

5 Nike Pro HyperCool Cropped Training Tank

Price: $50
Kosgei won the women’s race wearing a cropped Nike tank, which was similar to the 361 degrees top worn by Crouch. This Nike Pro piece will wick sweat, keep you cool, and make sure you’re unrestricted during your next race.

6 Nike Pro Dri-Fit 3.0 Sleeves

Price: $30
Not all fast runners wear Nike arm sleeves, but the winners of the past two major marathons (including world record holder Eliud Kipchoge) did, so there’s that. While correlation doesn’t mean causation, these Nike Pro sleeves will keep your arms warm on cool-weather days without you wearing an extra layer.

7 Nike Men’s Running Half Tights

Price: $40
Again, we’re not saying that Nike half tights will make you fast, but a whole lot of fast marathoners have been wearing them recently. Rupp and Farah wore similar versions of these form-fitting half tights in Chicago.
