Trail Pursuit in the Lake District have announced they’re going ahead with their annual marathon event this year.
The racing event begins on the 28 – 29 May in Windermere, taking runners on a unique and formidable experience through the forests and mountain paths in the area.
Participants are able to choose from a variety of trails based on their current level.
The marathon offers the full trail experience, half marathon, 10K, 5K and a children’s 1 mile distance.
The event is also being run in support of Brathay Trust Charity who inspire young people to engage positively in the outdoors and their communities.
As ambassadors for the trust, Trail Pursuit educates young people to the benefits of time spent outdoors, both mentally & physically.
A spokesman for the event said: “It’s a great opportunity to have a weekend away with the family, my kids can get involved, my wife can do yoga and we can all enjoy a family swim together.”
After the race, participants are able to join in guided yoga exercises, hear talks from other inspiring athletes, and take part in a wild swim in the Lake.
