That was a lovely way to end the day for the Billy Bunters…
There was late money for Amy Murphy’s Napping (7-1 to 5-1) and she was always bossing the last at Lingfield.
Young claimer Sean Kirrane knows the mare well and was chuffed with her, saying: “I’m delighted with that.
“I’ve ridden her before and she’s had a long season so that was a good effort.”
Meanwhile, Gary Moore is planning an end of season trip to HQ for his smart handicapper Gossiping.
Gazza’s gelding was well beaten when jolly at Goodwood last weekend and the trainer said: “He used to pull hard which is why we’ve been running him over 7f.
“The thing is he settles so much better now that he needs a mile, or better still 1m1f. The Silver Cambridgeshire would be perfect and that’s his long-term aim.”

Royal Lodge option
Unbeaten juvenile Thunderous may move up to a mile in the Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes on his next start.
Mark Johnston’s colt has won each of his three career outings over seven furlongs, including the Listed Denford Stakes last time, and holds an entry in Saturday’s Solario Stakes at Sandown.
Harry Herbert, racing manager for owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, believes a step up in distance for next month’s Royal Lodge at Newmarket is the more likely option at this stage – although Doncaster’s Champagne Stakes over seven furlongs is still in the mix.
He said: “I spoke to Mark yesterday, and I think he’s likely to be heading to the Royal Lodge or the Champagne Stakes rather than run on Saturday.
“He’s very well and in good form, but we think a mile might suit him better at this stage.
“He’s a very exciting horse and unbeaten so far. It’s a tough one when he’s been winning over seven furlongs – but the way he’s raced, looking like he’s going to be swallowed up and keeping on again, we think a mile might suit.
“I wouldn’t rule out the Champagne Stakes, but I think the Royal Lodge is the favoured option.”

Eddie `The Shoe’ Fremantle has been banging on all day that the best ground is up the middle of the track and Lets Go Lucky hammered the point home in Lingfield’s sixth.
Harry Bentley was under no illusions about the quality of the race and said: “I know it was a bad race but he kept on well and tried for me.
“We were drawn 2 so I decided to stay up the middle. It was nice to prove that you can win up there!”
Meanwhile, super-shrewd race-reader Steve Payne has tipped us the wink about one running at Chelmsford tomorrow night.
Stevie has been keeping a beady eye on Hughie Morrison’s Astral Girl and reckons she’s potentially chucked-in on her handicap debut in a desperate looking 1m2f handicap at the Essex circuit.
Tidy Tom Marquand has been booked to ride so take the hint if the dosh arrives for her.

Gamble landed at Lingers…
David Menuisier notched-up his double in the fifth when well-bet Gypsy Whisper (10-1 to 11-2) ran right over the top of the jolly Follia.
David is walking on water at the moment and said: “She’s a filly I’ve always liked and that was very encouraging.
“It looked as if she was outpaced at halfway, but she finished really strongly and will stay further.”
Jockey Jason Watson agreed and reckoned: “A step-up in trip will help and she’s still immature. She’ll be a much better filly next year.”
Jolly Jason has been aboard both Menuisier winners and the word here is that he fancies his chance of completing a hat-trick on Henry Candy’s Olaudah in the last.
